Have you ever been to Wakefield. Just 10 minutes down the road from Rocky Pines UP is the quaint little town of Wakefield. Grab a Pasty at Randall's then take a stroll around the beautiful lake. If you're here for the 4th - the fireworks here are GREAT!

A quick 6 mile drive from the chalet is Copper Peak. One of the largest man-made ski jumps..and work is underway to reopen it. But YOU can go visit and venture to the top for the best views in the Upper Peninsula. They also have great MTN Bike trails!

An easy 1 hour day-trip from the chalet, past views of lake superior and up the mountain, then an easy hike up the trail leads to incredible views of the Lake of the Clouds.
